This international congress on forensic odontology is aimed at anyone interested in the subject: dentists, experts and non-experts alike, lawyers, magistrates, gendarmerie and police.

 

The congress will take place over 3 days, with the first day on Wednesday October 8, 2025 featuring practical workshops: age estimation with Prof. CAMERIERE from Macerata (Italy), practical expertise cases for practitioners, novice and experienced experts.

 

The second day of the congress, Thursday October 9, is devoted to “Legal Compensation for Bodily Injury”, and will bring together dentists, experts, lawyers and psychologists to discuss the following topics: the role of dental consultants, the weight of expert opinions in judgments, references for the indication of dental surgery, AI in expert appraisals, assessment of loss of future professional earnings, and will conclude with an interactive session based on practical expert appraisal cases: Experts in the ring.

 

The third day, Friday October 10, is dedicated to “Odontological dentification”, with the following program:

  • Imaging in forensic odontology
  • Archaeology and forensic anthropology: analysis of Notre-Dame burials, dental study of 5 mummies, skeleton discovery: from the autopsy table to the Court of Assisi
  • Age and gender estimation methods
  • Forensic medicine: between current practice and anthropology in Nancy, Vade-mecum de l’expert aux Assises (French version)
  • Bite mark analysis: round table discussion
  • Psychiatry: terrorist acts
